International Seminar on Machining Technologies

Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) organized the International Seminar on Machining Technologies in two half-day sessions on 24 and 25 January 2025 during IMTEX 2025.

The seminar was inaugurated by Mr. B. Thej Kumar, Vice President - Operations, Product Development and Quality, Toyoda Gosei South India; Mr. Anuj Jhunjhunwala, Chief Executive Officer, JJ Aero; and Mr. Aditya Narayanan, Vice President – Engineering, Tata Electronics.

Mr. Rajendra S. Rajamane, President - IMTMA; Ms. Mohini Kelkar, Vice President - IMTMA; and Mr. Jibak Dasgupta, Director General & CEO - IMTMA shared the dais at the inauguration.

In his keynote address, Mr. Thej Kumar spoke about the trends shaping the automotive industry and its impact on manufacturing technologies. Mr. Jhunjhunwala in his keynote address highlighted the role of machine tools in India’s expanding aerospace sector.

 

Mr. Narayanan’s keynote address focused on electronics manufacturing and how the developments in the electronics sector are helping India become a manufacturing hub.

The seminar was attended by around 350 delegates from more than 100 companies from across various industry sectors.

Marking a milestone, this was the first edition of the seminar to be held alongside IMTEX. The two half-day event featured an impressive 30+ technology presentations by experts from various countries.

Hybrid manufacturing, sustainability in metal cutting, data-driven manufacturing, forging and casting, Industry 4.0, digital twin, and many other topics expected to drive the current and future landscape of manufacturing in India were presented.
