Interactive Meeting on Green Manufacturing

The first interactive meeting of the IMTMA – Green Manufacturing cell, an ‘Interactive Meeting on Green Manufacturing' was held at the Kennametal India Ltd. on February 22, 2018.

As many as 25 participants from senior management of 12 companies attended the meeting, which is a new initiative by the IMTMA.

During the meeting two case studies were discussed. The first was by Mr. Jai Bharath from Kennametal, who presented company’s best green practices with significant benefits recorded by going green.

The second case study was presented by Mr. Khuzema Gangerdiwala from Godrej Tooling Industry on their journey towards green manufacturing, challenges and significant results gained from it. It is notable that Godrej Tooling Industry is certified Silver rating by CII-GBC Green Co.

Mr. Muthusezhiayan, Principal Counsellor CII-GBC, briefed on the importance of green manufacturing across all segments. He also briefed the participants about the process of green certification process, its benefits, commercial aspects, benefits of cluster or cell approach etc.

During the meeting, it was agreed upon that the pre audit process will be carried out during second week of April 2018 for all the participated companies. IMTMA would facilitate and arrange for this audit by CII-GBC with prior appointment by the respective companies

Mr. B.C. Rao, Chairman IMTMA-GMC, Mr. M.G. Srinivas, Executive Director IMTMA and Mr. H.V. Rajashekara, Senior Director, IMTMA were also present on the occasions.

Senior management from companies like ACE, BFW, UCAM, Kennametal, Wendt, Pragathi, Lextechnoid, Fanuc, Yuken, AMS and ETA participated in the meeting.
