Economy Update |
Intermediate goods have shown a promising growth during June 2016, which will have positive impact on machine tool industry. GST is expected to remove the cascading effects of various multi-level indirect taxes on goods and services and will subsume most of the country's central and state level duties and taxes thus making the country a national market and contribute significantly to the growth of the economy.

Delhi Machine Tool Expo 2017
IMTMA will organize the second edition of the Delhi Machine Tool Expo at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from 10 to 13 August 2017.
The expo will address the manufacturing requirements of the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) of various industry sectors in Tier II and Tier III cities of North India.

Training on Hydraulic System Design for Machineries
17 - 22 October 2016, Gurugram
IMTMA is conducting a 6 days course on hydraulic system design for machineries. The course will cover introduction to basics of hydraulics system to complete design. The course will cover introduction to fluids, pumps, direction, flow, pressure control valves and symbols, etc. Industry experts from Leonardo Automation (India), Yuken India, etc. will impart the training.
Design of Fixture – Specialization (Machining / Welding / Assembly and Inspection Fixtures)
17 - 22 October 2016, Bengaluru
IMTMA is conducting a 6 days course on fixture specialization. A complete process of fixture design will be carried out from concept to finish design. Pre-design activities like design input, conceptualization, process planning, accuracy consideration, etc. will be covered.
Machining Dynamics : Transforming Science into Technologies for Improved Productivity
13 - 14 September 2016, Bengaluru
IMTMA is conducting a new training programme on machining dynamics. The programme will introduce the essentials of: machining process mechanics, machine tool dynamics, and of process-machine interactions to predict and avoid unstable chatter vibrations. Industry Data CD 2015 - 16
IMTMA collects data on production and exports of machine tools from all the members every quarter to arrive at annual production trends. Import of machine tools is obtained from vendor every month and consumption of machine tools in India is estimated using production, export and import data.
Machine tools consumption has reached Rs.10376 Cr during 2015-16 compared to Rs.9267 Cr during 2015-15 registering a Y-O-Y growth of 12%. All types of machines CNC, non CNC, metal cutting, metal forming, are produced, exported, imported and consumed in India. Detailed machine wise consumption trends can be obtained from website through the member's login area, or contact us for CD format.

Magnets Used For Handling Plates / Cut-Outs in A CNC Plasma / Oxyflame Cutting Machine
The fabrication industry is using extensively plasma / CNC (oxy flame) profile cutting of steel plates. Generally plates of size 6,300 x 1,500 mm to 12,500 x 3,500 mm of varying thickness are loaded onto these plasma/ oxy flame cutting machines. The machine is fed with a program and the cutting commences.

An interactive meeting of IMTMA Regional Council (South) was held in Bengaluru. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Indradev Babu, Managing Director, UCAM Pvt. Ltd.
It was attended by 22 regional council (south) members. The members interacted on current industry status and actions needed to gear up to the challenge to meet customer expectations and demand.

Technology Mission to Aerospace Industries in Europe
IMTMA organized a “Technology Mission to Aerospace Industries in United Kingdom, Germany and Spain from 26 June to 5 July 2016. The objective of the Technology Mission was to familiarize the Indian machine tool industry with significant advancement and hi-technology developments at leading global aerospace institutions as well as analyze key parameters on aerospace manufacturing in terms of requirements, technical perspectives, certifications, opportunities and challenges.
