Indian Automobile Industry ends FY16 on Positive Note

The Indian automobile industry during Apr - Feb FY16 ended on a positive note with about 1.6 percent growth in production. Auto industry being the major consumer of machine tool industry in the country a growth in this industry will have positive impact the performance of machine tool industry. Industry needs to diversify its product range to other emerging sectors to sustain the growth in the long-term basis.

ASME Training on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in Design through Manufacturing (for GDTP-Technologist Level)

13 – 15 June 2016 at IMTMA Technology Centre, Pune

This training programme will focus on understanding the system of GD&T and the methods of applying it in real time design by using case studies, examples and exercises.


Burr Management in Machining

17 June 2016 at Gurgaon

IMTMA is organizing a 1 day programme in Gurgaon on Burr Management in Machining. The programme will give delegates a clear knowledge to participants on Burr definition, burr geometry, Burr formation mechanisms, Burr types and standards for burrs & edges. Various methods on burr less operations, Burr prevention and Burr minimization technique will be discussed.


27th Batch : Finishing School in Production Engineering: Enhancing Productivity in Machining

6 June - 2 July 2016 at IMTMA Technology Centre, Pune

IMTMA is organizing an exclusive hands on course "Finishing school in Production Engineering" to enhance skill sets of engineers and supervisors from manufacturing industries. This course is of 4 weeks duration and is totally practical oriented with Hands on practice in production CNC machines, CAD/CAM, Metrology equipment, Tooling and work holding systems and other accessories.

17th Seoul International Manufacturing Technology Show (SIMTOS 2016)

IMTMA participated in SIMTOS 2016, one of the world's four major machine tool shows and Korea’s biggest trade fair for production and manufacturing technologies held at KINTEX, Ilsan from 13 – 17 April 2016. SIMTOS 2016 witnessed a large gathering of industrial technology company and display of products. Organized by the Korea Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association the event had exhibitors from 800 companies and attracted a footfall of 1,00,000 visitors. The exhibition showcased metal cutting and die mold making machines, cutting-off and bending machines, welding machines, punching machines, sawing machines, CAD/CAM, 3D printing machines, measuring instruments, and many more.


MACH 2016

IMTMA participated in MACH 2016, UK's premier manufacturing technologies event organized by the Manufacturing Technologies Association from 11 to 15 April 2016 at Birmingham in United Kingdom. MACH 2016 witnessed a footfall of over 25,000 visitors and around 600 exhibitors.

The biennial exhibition showcased advances in the manufacturing industry in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, power generation, medical equipments, autosport, rail and space, all under one roof. IMTMA had an information booth to promote its activities. The event showcased the future of British manufacturing. IMTMA held meetings with Manufacturing Technology Association of UK, Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, British Turned Parts Manufacturers Association, and British Abrasives Federation, UK Trade & Investment in India, Cranfield University, Gauge and Tool Manufacturers Association of UK, The Manufacturer Magazine, and AE Atlas Expo.


9th China CNC Machine Tool Fair 2016 (CCMT 2016)

IMTMA participated in the CCMT China CNC Machine Tool Fair, the sister exhibition of CIMT Beijing, an exhibition which takes place biennially. The key objective of IMTMA participation was to promote the 'Made in India' brand, showcase information on Indian machine tool industry and publicize IMTMA flagship events IMTEX 2017 and IMTEX FORMING 2018 and the regional machine tool expos to be held in Pune this year and Delhi next year. The machine tool fair organized by China Machine Tool Builders´ Association, Shanghai International Exhibition Co.and Int. Messe- und Ausstellungs dienst GmbH from 11 to 15 April 2016 featured over 1148 exhibitors from 22 countries. About 1,25,000 visitors from 20 countries attended the show.

Regional Council Meeting (North)

Meeting on 22 March 2016 : Ludhiana

An interactive meeting of IMTMA Regional Council (North) was held at New Swan Group in Ludhiana. Members discussed 'Lean Manufacturing'. Mr. Ankur Malik from Quality Council of India made a brief presentation on 'Salient Features of New Scheme of Lean Manufacturing for MSME'. The meeting was attended by 22 Regional Council (North) members.
