The infrastructure at IMTMA has been expanded. A new state-of-the-art exhibition hall (Hall 5) measuring 17,500 square metres has been built. The hall is identical to Hall 4 and brings forth a number of benefits for exhibitors and business visitors alike. Exhibition organizers will see using this hall as a natural choice for events and IMTMA expects more number of organizers to book space in this new hall. A Pooja ceremony was recently conducted by IMTMA to formally open the hall.

Visitors to IMTEX will have an easier ride into the campus of Bangalore International Exhibition Centre this time as the National Highways Authority of India, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India is nearing completion of the construction of a vehicular underpass to smoothen the flow of traffic.The underpass will enable smoother movement of vehicles during the exhibition and hindrance on the National Highway is expected to be minimized.

Karnataka state government has conferred P. Ramadas, Managing Director, Ace Manufacturing Systems Limited and President, IMTMA with Rajyotsava award.

The awards were distributed by Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy, Chief Minister of Karnataka along with Shri D.K. Shivakumar, Minister of Water Resources and Medical Education, Govt, of Karnataka, Shri B.Z. Zameer Ahmad Khan, Minister of Minorities Welfare, Haj and Wakf Department, Smt. Jayamala, Minister for Women and Child Development and Kannada and Culture, and BBMP mayor Smt. Gangambike Mallikarjun at an award ceremony held at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru on November 29, 2018.

Kailas P., Managing Director, Toshiba Machine Private Limited, Chennai along with Sakamoto San, Senior Global Director, Takatsu San, General Manager, Tani San and the Toshiba team visited IMTMA Technology Centre on November 13, 2018 to see the training facilities. IMTMA secretariat also accompanied them for a plant visit to ACE Manufacturing on the same day.

The 32nd edition of Metalex was organized by Reed Tradex Co. Ltd. at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre, Bangkok from 21 - 24 November 2018. IMTMA participated in the exhibition with the following objectives :

• Promote IMTMA Brands and showcase information on Indian Machine tool Industry through Association stalls.
• Promote Reverse “Buyer Seller Meet” and encourage International exhibitors to be a part of it during IMTEX 2019 (Export Development).
• Promote IMTEX Cutting & Tooltech 2019 and IMTEX FORMING 2020.
• Promote the Brand ‘Made in India’ (India Advantage).

The exhibition featured over 900 exhibitors with 9 country pavilions from 50 countries and attracted 99,998 visitors.
