The Indian economy remained the world's fastest growing major economy in the July-September quarter rising on the back of healthy growth in agriculture. Intermediate goods have shown a promising growth during September 2016, which will have positive impact on machine tool industry.

National Productivity Summit
10th Edition of National Productivity Summit Concludes Successfully
The 10th Edition of IMTMA's National Productivity Summit concluded successfully in Bengaluru on 26 November 2016. At the IMTMA-ACE MICROMATIC Championship Awards, Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts won the first prize. Mahindra and Mahindra won the second prize. VE Commercial Vehicles won the third prize. Certificates of Merit were given to: Brakes India, Super Auto Forge, and TTK Prestige. Vox Populi Award was given to Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts.

7th International Seminar on Machining Technologies
With a view to highlight the evolving trends in the machining technologies, IMTMA is organizing the seventh "International Seminar on Machining Technologies" on 25 January 2017, in conjunction with IMTEX 2017 exhibition, in Bangalore.
IMTEX 2017 & Tooltech 2017
Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) is organizing the 18th edition of IMTEX 2017 and 19th edition of concurrent Tooltech 2017 from 26 January 2017 to 1 February 2017 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre in Bengaluru. For IMTMA this is a watershed moment as it marks the 10th year of existence of BIEC. IMTMA is building a new hall of around 17,500 sq.mts. which will be an add-on to the existing infrastructure. The exhibition will feature over 1000 exhibitors. The group participation this time around is from 7 countries: China, Germany, Spain, Italy, USA, Taiwan and Czech Republic.
i2 Academia Pavilion @ IMTEX 2017
i2 Academia Pavilion is an opportunity for Indian academic/R&D institutions to showcase their capabilities and R&D activities related to machine tools/manufacturing engineering fields at IMTEX 2017.
Institutions wanting to present their research findings to the industry at IMTEX 2017 can write to Mr. Sreedhara (sreedhara@imtma.in).
Delhi Machine Tool Expo 2017
IMTMA will organize the second edition of the Delhi Machine Tool Expo at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from 10 to 13 August 2017.
The expo will address the manufacturing requirements of the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) of various industry sectors in Tier II and Tier III cities of North India.

JIMTOF 2016
The 28th Japan International Machine Tool Fair organized by the Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association was held in Tokyo International Exhibition Centre, Tokyo from 17 to 22 November 2016.
IMTMA participated in this exhibition to gain more insights into global best practices. Apart large size companies, many Japanese machine tool companies show cased their new innovations to meet the future technology demand.
